I can't change any design of my pets.. all of them are just black...

I tried downloading 2 sims 3 pets expansion packs (FLT and Games4theworld's the name i think) but their still the same. when i try to adapt a pet the pets photo are load as all black animal. i tried changing the coat but still its all black. it really sucks seing your pet with the same color and no pattern everyday. i cant seem to know what to do with this problem and i think its not a graphical compatibility problem coz my laptop also support pixel shader 2.0 coz according to other forums if your laptop cant support pixel shader 2.0 the will game will just crash. i already have the UL and supernatural expansions and there working fine. so please could anyone help with this problem i would love to give my witch a cat for pet..
