Sims Freeplay on IPad is acting funny?

So I decided to make one of my married families have a kid, and I wanted to add a new room to the house, it didn't look like I wanted it to, so I decided just to redo the whole house. After I deleted all of the rooms, and made new ones, I went into my inventory to put all the furniture back into the house, but every time I clicked on anything the game would close and I would be back on my homescreen. Then when I would open the game back up, the changes I made would still be there, but whatever I had my sims doing they wouldn't be doing anymore. I still can't get the things out of my inventory and I don't want to have to re-buy all that furniture. Any help?

My sims are getting sick
