The only thing that is a little problem in the game is that Sam's goggles give off a nasty glare and the enemies don't see it.

It's the infrared lights to make night vision work better. It was one of the things they wanted people to see that give Sam Fisher his own unique look. In real life you could only see those lights if you had night vision yourself.
