I can't guarantee that this will work, but it did for me. On Adventure or Mission mode, choose Sonic and make sure that he can use the Light Speed Dash. Charge up pressing and holding 'Z' until he becomes blue, but don't let go. Then charge up again, but using a different key this time. For example A, and then release both buttons at the same time. First, he will roll around at high speed, then he'll use the Light Speed Dash or Attack.This would be useful if you find enemies in front of rings and you want to get through as fast as possible! The one thing that bothers me is the time it takes, so if you're racing the clock for an emblem, get the Diamond Ring first.
