I read somewhere that this is only the 18th time since 1969 that someone has been killed by a Stingray which means Steve Irwin was extremely unlucky to have died.

I heard he was the 2nd or 3rd and that someone was killed in 1945 by a stingray. Even so it was still unlucky.

Whether it's 2nd, 3rd or 18th, calling it unlucky is an understatement. I heard that if he hadn't tried to pull the sting out from his heart they could have got him to a hospital and he would have survived.

Reptiles were always his forte not marine life, it's a shame as he was entertaining to watch when he was near crocodiles.

The only reason he died was because he pulled it out. If you get impaled, don't pull the object out. with the object not there to obstruct blood flow, he died bleeding.

Apperently if he was still concious which i guess he was if he pulled it out he would have been in extreme agony.
