On 28-Jul-2009 Sanzano said:I remember Michael Owen when he played for Liverpool and he was one of the best strikers in the world. Between 1996 and 2004 he scored 118 goals in 216 appearances for the club which is a world class strike rate.
No doubt he scores asif hes a world class player, but it would be useless if he plays second fiddle to Rooney and Berbatov

They didn't sign him for much, I think it was a good move for Manchester United.

He's getting injured too much.

Munich bought Ardjen Robben from Real Madrid for 25 Million Euros. They've agreed to sell Ribery next year to Real. Nice deal! Trading an experienced midfielder for one that is simply causing trouble during training sessions just because he wasn't transferred.

With Munich playing against VFL Wolfburg today, Van Gaal plans to have both Ribery and Robben in Midfield. They better win this. After 2 ties and 1 loss, Coach Louis van Gaal can come in serious trouble just like Klinsmann did last year. The danger is though, if they fire van Gaal no good coach would be able to fill his place. Heynkes is coaching Bayer Leverkusen and Hitzfeld is now coaching the Swiss National Team. If Van Gaal is fired, we can expect to see Beckenbauer or Rummenigge in the Coaching position. Most likely Backenbauer, since he thinks he knows everything better than anyone.

I still think firing Juergen Klinsmann was a big mistake!

Michael Owen will be getting huge bonuses for appearances and scoring goals to make up his wages, if he can recapture the form he showed at Liverpool he could be the highest paid Manchester United player.

I can say signing Arjen Robben was really a wasted move, due to his injuries in the past where he played in the EPL..

Anyway, I Dont think hiring Van Gaal was right in the first place, they should hire someone who has experiences in handling good teams, not those teams which performance is like minnows of Europe, such as AZ Alkmaar etc.

I remember when Arjen Robben played for Chelsea. When he played he was superb but the problem was it wasn't very often. He spent most of his time at Chelsea on the bench injured.

Munich beats Dortmund in an overwhelming 1:5.

Dortmund Goals:
M. Hummels (.10)

Munich Goals:
M. Gomez (.36)
B. Schweinsteiger (.50)
F. Ribery (.65)
T. Mueller (.78)
T. Mueller (.88)

This is nice! Mueller is only 20 and is already considered a star player in the Bundesliga. I'm glad Gomez is doing good too in Munich! New strkers usually have difficulties like Podolski. I do want to watch Klose and Toni play again though. Not just Gomez and Olic.

Other Outcomes:
Hamburg SV vs. Stuttgart (3:1)
Vfl Wolfsburg vs. Bayer Leverkusen (2:3)
Mainz vs. Hertha BSC (2:1)
Hoffenheim vs. Vfl Bochum (3:0)
1. FC Nuernberg vs. Borrusia Moenchengladbach (1:0)
SC Freiburg vs. Eintracht Frankfurt (0:2)

Tomorrow's Matches:
1. FC Koeln vs. Schalke 04
Werder Bremen vs. Hannover 96

Current Standings:
1. HSV 9 13
2. Bayer 04 8 13
3. Eintracht 3 9
4. FC Bayern 6 8
5. Hoffenheim 3 8
6. Mainz 05 0 8
7. Werder 3 7
8. Schalke 04 3 7
9. M'gladbach -1 7
10. Wolfsburg -2 6
11. Stuttgart -2 5
12. Nrnberg -2 5
13. Dortmund -6 5
14. Hannover 0 4
15. Bochum -6 4
16. Freiburg -8 4
17. Hertha BSC -3 3
18. 1. FC Kln -5 1

I could never get into the German league, the only leagues I like are the Primiership, La Liga and Serie A. To me the German league is about as interesting as the Scottish Premier League.

I disagree. If the German Bundesliga is somewhat like SPL, then how did they qualify for world cup once every 4 years?

I can't see your point, all the good players who play in the German national team play their club football in a foriegn country.

This is true, but there aren't that many German players playing the club footall in a foreign country. But saying that the same can be said for English players.

Quite exactly. Players from countries like Portugal and Croatia play out-of-country mainly because their home league isn't that popular.

And if they are exceptionally good they can make a lot more money playing their football in a foreign country where football is more popular like the Primiership, La Liga and Serie A.

How many top British players play their club football on foreign soil, the only one I can think of is David Beckham.
