I am glad XIII is gonna be an ATB (Active Time Battle) system like X but it is supposed to be a lot different from the others. I am also interested in what the creators mean when they say the summons are going to be in "digital form"

It's not going to be an ATB (in the same way anyway). That's really just the name for it. It's a totally different system altogether.

FF X didn't use the ATB system. It was the first FF not to use it since IV.

so apart from totally different form of ATB..how is it going to be in terms of fighting?

I've only heard that FF vs XIII is going to be like Kingdom Hearts.

I swear to god if FFXIII has the battle system like FFXII, I'm going to be ******.

The Final Fantasy X battle system was the shiznit. If they had it where you can control the way the character moves while you attack, then that'll be pretty epic.

To be quite honest id be fine if it was the same fight style as VII..i like XII in terms that you could advoid battles if you wanted to and the gambit system didnt bother me.

The closer it is to a god of war set up in terms of battle..the closer i am to never buying it.

I say keep FF the way its always been. Great storyline, a battle system that everyone can manage and amazing graphics.

I just got annoyed with having to change my gambits to fit a different battle situation. But the license system made it where you had to earn uber equipment, which I was fine with.

The gambits were so irritating.

You don't have to worry about that it doesn't, it uses a new take on the ATB battle system for previos FF's such as FFVII and FFVIII.

Yeah, I know. Those were probably my two favorite FF's + 8&9.

Yeah VIII is one of my favourites and I'm glad they are using the ATB system again. I did not like the system from FFXII, the real time was good but the gambits were a bad idea.

Exactly what I said gamespro. I hated to keep pressing pause in the middle of a fight just to change up strategy, especially against the espers.

I haven't even beat FFXII yet and I want that Chaos Esper. :P

Yeah I didn't use them for all the characters though, I like what I've seen from the new battle system it's a lot more in-depth.

Both games look amazing. It does mention the battling style of XIII, one site translated it to turn based, the other was vague.. but they both said it was nothing like XII with it's gambits system.

They have some new scans, yeah they both look great. There is no information for Versus XIII's battle system yet.

looks pretty awesome but i would definetly want to try it before buying it. Seeing as the game would cost me a PS3 or xbox360

Wow, that was brilliant. The graphics were incredible, and to think they'll looks even better in a wide-screen TV...The gameplay was also great, I love it how they have developed the speed of the characters. They truly look to be free, like a hack'n'slash game. The FF XII characters were good, but they can't even be compared to these ones.

And I already prefer Lightning over Vaan...

Yeah it does look amazing and I really like how the combat looks. It kind of reminds me of the fast paced combat from AC. Yeah Lightning looks like a great character and I like the sword she uses. It's kind of like the Gunblade sword that Squall uses in FFVIII except Lightning can switch between them.

Id prefer Vaan over Squall but Vaan was a weak protagonist. The game looks awesome but Ive now heard that they wont be releasing it in PAL territories now until 2010!
