best item

the other topic like this is dead.what is your favorite item and course?
for me it's the 3 muahroom thing.

golden mushrooom, yeah!!!

I like the star item still, I think that it depends on the situation your in but thats the best well rounded item in my opinion.

My favourite items are the star, bullet bill & golden mushroom.

Bullet Bill, Star, and 3 Red Shells

3 red shells, blue bomb, & golden mushroom.

I like the good ole triple green shell's! They've saved me from losing SO many times!

Bullet Bill is helpful if you are way in last. Golden mushroom helps you get the lead. Triple red shells help you to make certain people spin out. Blooper is just plain annoying and useless. Single red shell takes out a person for a temporary "boost" to another position. Triple green shells help take out one person if you have good aim. Single green shell hard to maneuver. Blue Shell Bomb helps you get the lead. Mushroom helps you speed up to a certain spot. 3 mushrooms just three of what I said earlier. Banana helps to make someone slow down. Triple banana helps you to make a person really slow down and lose their momentum if you repeatedly use it.

Did I miss any?

My favorites are Golden Mushroom and Bullet Bill in Races.

Triple red Shells are my favorite in Balloon and Coin Battles.

The Bullet Bill by a long shot. You don't have to drive it, it goes fast, and you smash other people out of the way. It rocks!

Definitely the super mushroom! Theres nothing like the feeling of crunching over your enemies and leaving them as flat as pancakes!

The Golden Mushroom. I like to think I'm the master of using it, because I've learned to control using it as much as possible without going off course, or into walls or stray items. I prefer it to the Bullet Bill, which almost never gets you any higher than third place (which is in the dreaded 'multiple Red Shell zone'.

I also like the triple banana, to help me make retain first position and make full use of the 'Mario Kart Syndrome', and the triple Red Shells.

The Golden Mushroom helps me out a lot of times so that is one.Also the three red and green shell because they helped me out so many times.A power star is another one.And last but not least the blue shell.

i forgot to mention my equal favorite; the blue shell! it's funnest thing ever, whether your dodging them or shooting em' they're great! although i did rather the blue shells that traveled on the ground and hit every body on the way to first place, except if you were on the end of one, they became quite annoying.

Are you guys crazy? Blue Shells are the most despised. They were...acceptable in Mario Kart 64 when they could hit other racers, but now they're just around to p!ss people off. They don't exactly help the user either, since you have to be in something like ninth place to get one. Almost every reviewer criticises the Blue Shell but Nintendo don't take the bloody hint and keep it in the next game.

Conveniently used Blue Shells have resulted in me taking first place in the past (someone's Blue Shell hits the leader when I'm in second place), and if you're in first place with people tailing you, you can fall back a little so they also get hit by the blast. But overall, I don't like it. Ironically, the one Blue Shell in a match hits me, and that's usually when I've been in first place for about three seconds.

You do make a good point, but there have been many times blue shells have put me into first place on the final seconds or so, but now that i think about it, they really have hit me alot more and stuffed me up than they have got me a win. But the real fun is in dodging blue shells(which also quite gay though as you cannot recieve mushrooms in first). But i still think that they are a vital part in a race, even though it is punishing somebody for being in first place.

There should be an option to switch certain items off. I'd get rid of the Blue Shell and the Thunder Cloud, which was a completely unecessary addition.

The thunder cloud always got on my nerves Because it always slowed me down.
