What in bloody hell was in the minds of the people that came up with these English names?

I also read somewhere that Nova meant 'New' in some language. Perhaps Greek or Latin.

Yea, I've seen UNOVA used as an acronym for that.

And that makes sense. I guess Nintendo was trying to make sense of the name for the English translation.

It's Latin. Neos is Greek. The name change was a bit unnecessary, but I'll forget I thought it was stupid about 3 months after the game comes out, so w/e.

I still like Isshu better. Unova is just...a little awkward to me. It's not that I hate the name, it's just the fact that it's so different.

Having just looked through the sprites, I have to say some of them look pretty awesome. Although one of them did look like a Tauros from the 1970s with a monster afro

Forgive the ignorance, but which one has the black dude (totally not trying to sound racist here haha) legendary? Because I'll probably pick one of these up, and I'm partial to the back one haha.

I liked most of the Japanese translations better than the English translations...And I'll probably get confused with calling everything by the Japanese translations until I get used to the rather wierd sounding English names.

Pokemon white has the black one and Pokemon Black has the white one.

Honestly who gave such crap names?I would've been happy with Nova as the the region but Unova is stupid.

Zorua and Zoroark keep their names...it was predicted that would happen.

It was a fact actually. They made an English Zoroark website months ago.

Can someone explain how you migrate a generation IV pokemon to gen. V?

You send them to the PokeShifter where you throw Poke Balls at them out of a slingshot. You can only do it after you've beaten the game/got Nation Dex/etc.

And the new English names for Claw Sharpen & Trickery were revealed too. Hone Claws & Foul Play are their new names. Hone Claws is horrid, it just doesn't roll off the tongue at all. It's not even attractive to say. Foul Play is ok, I still like Trickery better.

And FINALLY, one of my all-time biggest peeves with Pokemon has been addressed! The names of Pokemon are no longer ALL CAPS.

And will a pokemon from gen. IV gets an all caps name?

Yes, it requires 2 DSs. Well, you can't change a Pokemon's name after it's been transferred so it'll probably stay the same. It'll just be like a nickname.

Honestly wtf?Claw Sharpen sounds way better.Foul Play is eh but Hone Claws?God none of my pokemon will ever come close to that move.

It's TM01. Both your Pokeballs and TM01 will be in the same bag...therefore they'll be close to that move. ;D
