So yeah. Check the newb faq on these forums.
If you don't know anything on it, and if you don't play anyone outside your circle of friends who is known to play competitively, chances are, you aren't that good. I'm not being mean: it's the solid truth.
By competitively, I mean by playing in major tournaments, by which I mean national tournaments, where the cash prize is normally up by the thousands, and players all over the world come to play.
I'm one of them. One of the top 20 players in NJ, but on a national level, that's not saying much.
But since I can hold my own in an actual tournament without going against the nation's best, like Ken, Isai, and Azen, it's pretty easy for me to say what I'm telling you.
I'm not saying you suck. Not at all. I'm sure that when you play with your friends, you manage to kick their butts.
Don't come with that same overconfidence against any of the pros, who travel all the time to play smashers not only from the USA, but from Europe and Japan as well. You'll be broken. I've seen it happen. Trust me.
My best achievement, by the way? Merely managing to control Fox the way I can now. A year ago, I couldn't have been able to shffl, waveshine, nor would have had the mentality or the experience to go and actually stand a chance in a major tournament. I'm happy where I am now, and I'm striving for more.
