Does any one belive that the world will end on 21st dec 2012.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_Doomsday_prediction so what do you think acroding to nostrodomus( don't know the spellings) and acroding to islamic religion the world wiil end on december 21st of 2012.

I think it's a load of superstitious bull.

It's all a load of crap. Sure it might sound believeable because of all the evidence, but who's to say these different people didn't get together and one society got the other to believe. People have had end of the world theories for ages now and none of them have come true, just because there happens to be yet another one on the horizon that got just a little bit more hype than other doesn't mean it'll actually happen. If people believed every bit of fecal matter spat at them by the media, conspiracy theorists, and religious maniacs then people would be livin' in fear every day of their life. It seems every time I walk into a grocery store the tabloids have headlines like 'The End Time Have Begun!' or '100 New End Times Prophecies Discovered!' and somtimes even the occasional 'The World Will End on [insert date here]!' It's bull.
When it actually happens, then I'll be totally convinced.

The Mayans didn't say it would end specifically, but their calender ended at that point. I don't think this means the world will end. Maybe they just didn't finish the calender?
The whole thing comes from the fact that people believe the Mayans (and other tribes that used this calender, commonly called the Mayan calender although not invented by them specifically) never made an incorrect prediction. Whether this is true or not, we can't really be certain, however from what we've studied, most of their vague predictions did come true in a sense. But this isn't even a prediction, so it's all based on a hypothesis, and not a very good one.
