Right then, I know most of this site uses a microwave as their main cooking instrument, () but for those of us that like to cook or at least ones that are proficient in it, what is in general your favorite or most often used ingredient when cooking?

I have a few, onion (white or purple), bell pepper, oregano, and mustard.

Onion: It can be textured as either semi-crunchy or if sauteed smooth and soft. Depends on what you prefer and what you're making, I'll usually use the crunch texture. Also, I've always liked spicy food and onion supplies that. Lastly, as far as presentation goes, I've found they can be made to look quite nice, food coloring anyone?

Bell Pepper: This I use when I want a very crunchy texture, and as a 'filler' if you will. It's got a week taste, but one that is enjoyably and usually fresh, so (especially when served cold) it's a sort of 'cleanser'. And for the presentation, you can use red or green, and chop them any way you want, so lots of potential there.

Oregano: I love to use herbs and spices in my cooking, but this is my favorite of them all. I love the fresh smell and taste you get from it. I always thought herbs/spices add a sort of earthy feel to the presentation as well.

Mustard: A strange ingredient but one I use often as more of a personnel preference than anything else really. I love the unique and powerful taste, if combined right it can become great with other ingredients. If the dish calls for it, can also be a good presentation helper, but not on a regular basis, usually just used for taste.

Go Go Go

I like using cheese, although I only ever use that in a chicken and cheese sandwhich or when I'm drowning my pasta in it, haha.

Frozen chicken fingers/nuggets/burgers
Fries
Kraft Dinner
Toast

I can't cook at all. Anything really simple I can do because it's just tossing it in the oven or the microwave. Beyond that nothing.

I like to find neat drinks though. Mixed Jagermeister with coke and it was one of the best drinks I've ever had. Never heard of doing that before but wound up being delighted.

Well, I just made some legitimate Japanese cuisine using my previously mentioned ingredient, flour.

Udon noodles, folks. < Click that for a picture of my awesome cookery. (Not a trap, btw.)

I usually find myself next to the grill.

If I make burgers, I use garlic pepper and Lawrys seasoned salt.

If I'm making steaks or a roast I use my trusty garlic pepper, seasoned salt, onion, leaf basil, a little oregeno, and some Malabar island pepper.

For ribs I use a secret dry rub consisting of secret things and Malabar Island Pepper, basil, onion, and oregeno.

With poultry I use Basil, Tellicherry pepper, Malibar pepper, Miracle blend, and my favorite-garlic pepper.
