Thought I'd mention a really great, very unknown band that deserves a larger fanbase.

The band is obviously influenced by Tool.

Just now scratching the surface of these guys with those songs, and I can't say I'm disappointed.

I think I'll keep an eye on these guys from now on, listen a little more as well.

I can't listen to music on this computer, so my opinion on this band is that if they sound like Tool, then I will probably have a varied opinion on them. Some songs by Tool are great, whereas others could be described as just plain boring.

For some reason I can't quite put my finger on, their vocalist kinda bugs me. There's talent there, but something about the tone of the voice is just irritating to me. But that's probably just me.

Overall, pretty awesome music. They've got definite potential. I'd just prefer a different singer, myself.
Sincerely,
Jaffa

I looked them up on MySpace because I'm sick of people thinking that Tool influenced EVERY modern prog-rock band EVER.

Of their 36 Top Friends, most of which are bands or musicians, Tool is not featured, although Meshuggah and Sleepytime Gorilla Museum are. And yes, Tool do have a MySpace.

So if they did influence the music, they obviously didn't influence it THAT much.

I like Karnivool, great Aussie bands like this are rare. Set Fire to the Goliath is my favourite song by them.
