Rage Against The Machine is awesome, I gotta admit. Tom Morello's got a style that doesn't exactly appeal to me, but they are a good band. =/

The only song I like by System Of A Down is "B.Y.O.B." xD

Is it just the raunchy lyrics and underlying themes in their songs that turn you away?

because if so, you're right to look away, That's half the beauty. (or lack thereof, depending on the person.)

I'm just going to list out a couple of bands that I know of from different genres, just to give you a taste of each.

Five Finger Death Punch, All That Remains, Alesana, All-Time Low, Asking Alexandria, Bedlight For Blue Eyes, Blue October, Breaking Benjamin, Chimaira, Daughtry, Dirge Within, Cam'Ron, D-Block, DJ Drama, DJ Khaled, Dropkick Murphies, Dropping Daylight, Evanescence, FM Static, Flyleaf, Flo-Rida, Fort Minor, Framing Hanley, The Fray, Hollywood Undead, Immortal Technique, Jason Mraz, Killswitch Engage, Kittie, Lucana Coil, Lil' Boosie, Lostprophets, Madina Lake, Megadeth, Mike Jones, Mims, Mista Madd, Mudvayne, My Chemical Romance, Our Last Night, Ozzy Osbourne, Paramore, Paul Wall, Plain White T's, Protest The Hero, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Relient K, Rick Ross, Rise Against, Saosin, School Boy Humor, Secondhand Serenade, Senses Fail, Shadow's Fall, Sherwood, Sick Puppies, Silverstein, Skull Gang, The Starting Line, Static-X, A Static Lullaby, Story of the Year, Suicidal Tendancies, Theory of a Deadman, Three Days Grace, Trivium, The Used, Webbie, We The Kings, Yellowcard, Young Jeezy

Well, most of it's Rock or Alternative in some way but I tried giving you big names so they'd be easier to find and threw in some smaller bands that you might not like, but you have a wide preference on music. So good luck.

@Spartan 085: Are you actually Spartan? Because I am. Smile

@The_Best_Of_The_West: I'm not sure if anyone's brought it up yet, but you should definitely listen to some Steve Vai. He's amazing. Take a listen to "Whispering A Prayer", for example.

I second Relient K, they are great.

Here are some bands that are extremely good:

Burden of A Day: Hardcore with screamo but they are extremely guitar filled.

Thrice: Amazing stuff but I recommend you check out their album Vhiessu first.

Relient k: Punk mainly but their early stuff is awesome.

Angels and Airwaves: Very space rock sound but their stuff is awesome.

Anberlin: Pretty good, not my favorite but their stuff is decent.

Blindside: Hardcore band like Burden of a Day. If you really like screamo, check out their album A Thought Crushed My Mind.

Coldplay: You probably have a vendetta against these guys since it's so obvious how many people listen to them.

Emery: A hardcore band like Burden of A Day

Ivoryline:An rocker band. They are good and there new album was great.

Lights: If you like techno, she's good. Canadian too.

mewithoutYou: More than likely you will hate this band from the moment you listen ot them as they speak their lyrics instead of singing them. Their lyrics and music however are astonishing and they are one of my favorite bands.

Paramore: If you havn't already listened to them or heard of them, then these guys are pretty good.

Secret and Whisper: An amazing band that it is really hardcore without screaming.

Sent by Ravens: Relatively new band coming out that has an album coming out next year. Get their song Trailer Vs. Tornado

Skillet: Hardcore band, their stuff is really good but I would recommend getting their album Savior first.

Switchfoot: Pretty good band, Oh Gravity was their latest album and it was good.

Underoath: Hard, hardcore band with a lot of screamo. If you don't like that, don't get into these guys. Their good though.

The Wedding: Decent band, not great but still pretty good. Get their song Return from the album The Sound The Steel.

Wavorly: A pretty good band that incorporates a lot of strings in their music. They rock though on the one song Time I Understood.

Sum 41: Once again if you haven't heard of these guys you probably should listen to their early stuff. Their latest album Underclass Hero was sensational though.

Those are some bands that I know of and I listen to pretty much all of them.
If I had a chance for another try, I wouldn't change a thing.
Cause it's made me all of who I am inside.
And if I could thank God, that I am here, and that I am alive.
And everyday I wake, I tell myself a harmless little lie....
the whole wide world is mine

Skillet?
Hardcore?

I really hope you meant that as a compliment rather than a description of their Musical style.

I mean, skillet isn't hardcore.

Hardcore is originated from the heavier punk bands, like Black Flag and Minor Threat.
Hardcore is the origin of Moshing and Moshpits. (Anthrax coined the term, But Hardcore Punk Is what Started it all.)
Do people start moshpits at skillet concerts?
If they're sober, they don't.

There are a lot of subgenres of Hardcore, and variations, but none of them fit with skillet.

Skillet could be classified as Christian Rock, Hard Rock, Symphonic Rock, and Industrial Rock by specifics. Some may branch out and call it other genres; such as alternative.

But they're not Hardcore.

To you no, to me yes. But then again, we both listen to two different styles of Music. Oh which reminds me BB, Haste the Day is good too.

Opinions.

What I just told is fact. It's hardcore, by definition.
In other words, when I tell you skillet isn't hardcore, that's not my opinion. That's reality.

By definition, skillet is not hardcore, and therefore when you say that they are, you're incorrect.

But I suspect you're not going to care about reality.

So for the sake of staying on topic,
BumbleBEE, You should try Anarchy Club, They seem up your alley.

Glad you like Skillet.
Seeing as it could easily come up after my having made that point regarding Skillet, I never said they were bad, in fact I'm quite fond of them.
