Childhood Fears

We all used to be immensely scared of stupid things at one point or another as children. What were some of yours and why?

For me, I'd say the biggest was with roller coasters, and horror movies. The 2nd seems sort of obvious at first, but think about it. I know a lot of people who have loved horror since being very young, and I've always just been one who get's scared to death if I was to watch something like Drag Me to Hell...just not my thing. I'm more of an action and comedy guy.

yea roller coasters and horror movies as well for me.another one was being scared that a snake would eat me while i was asleep.

I was scared of the dark.

Fish. Yeah. Go ahead and laugh. I'm one of the only people I know who has itchyophobia. I think it all started when I was...four maybe, and I had four pet fish. The rest was a blur from there after one dream I had about it.

also i was s**t scard of thunder and ligtnig when i was young
i love both things now . i am more of a nighttime person and i love the sond of thunder nowadys aswell.

I was terrified of, and still is terrified of, burglars breaking in. It never happened but because of my medication, I hear noises that sound like people breaking in.

For some reason I was always afraid that someone was going to hide in the closest.Then kill me in the middle of the night. I was so scared of that happening I would push stuff up against the closet at night. I grew out of that fear but, theres two other fears I haven't grown out of. The fear of heights and spiders.

I've been scared of spiders since I was about six, but strangely, I wasn't prior to then.

I had the classic fear of a monster living under my bed, usually different things depending from what I was feeling scared about, from zombies to aliens to general monsters.

I'm still scared of girls.

I was, and still am, scared of Heights and the Dark more then anything :P. Sounds stupid to still be scared of the dark, but hey, a lot of freaky/scary stuff usually take place at night......in the dark...

I was always afraid that a ghost would cut me to ribbons in my sleep. Mainly because I'm pretty sure there were ghosts in my house at the time. And if I stayed up past 1:00 AM, I would hear noises. Like, people talking. One time, I think it was a middle-aged lady. Another time I thought for sure I heard a baby crying. My family was the first to live in this house, so no one could've died in it. I don't know what to conclude, though.

I was afraid of the dark. I'm still not too fond of it.

I used to be, and still slightly am, scared stiff by aliens. I blame Signs (The movie) for this.

I used to think there was a monster under my bed. You know what I did to prevent it from eating me each night? Line my collection of teddy bears around my bed, like a fence.

God I was cool.

I am currently not afraid of anything accept for zombies...I sleep with a knife next to my bed.
I used to be afraid of wasps and fire...but now I love fire. Still not thrilled about wasps though.

I always used to have a fear of top floor creaky floorboards after I learnt that there isn't much holding the floor up. Whenever I stepped on a floorboard and it creaks I jumped backward about a metre to get off the creaky floorboard.

Penguins, actually. I had a nightmare where they drowned me.

Spiders and lightning.

I still fear spiders. x|

I'm a tad bit afraid of heights, but I'm afraid of spiders (I swear I have arachnophobia).
