There's already a tutorial for that, Craizen, and he followed it. That style was used by everyone, this year.
I'll try to find a link.

It's a good beginner tutorial IMO, I went through some of the basic steps like how to apply the image, how to make a clipping mask, etc.
Eh, some typos and one screw-up with an image overlapping some of the text... But other than that, it's pretty good. ;O

Craizen, the first one consists of smudged C4Ds with a ton of adjustment layers, surely, and the second one is a digipaint. They're both the kind of stuff you can only achieve with experience, the techniques alone won't get you far.

I'm stealing some stuff from PR to bump this up.
Not sure why I like this, to be honest. I suppose its simplicity captures me.
In complete contrast to simplicity, I love how exciting and abstract the tag is. :3

There are tons of "versions" of that first one, Vee. 
Craizen, the second to last looks exactly like something Fina would make, but that's not his PB, so I have no idea. As for the last one, it was made by Shinji (he has been using a new name, but I don't recall what it is). He's a great, great tagger who recently came back, but he's never around for long.
