^I played as a Goalkeepr in fieldhockey, you get a ton of protection;

Guys do get cups as well, although I didn't have one because the local sports store didn't have any in stock ;_; Needless to say, first game out, the ball found it's mark & wasn't in a padded area.

Field Hockey is different to Ice Hockey. It's a solid ball. Slightly larger than a tennis ball. Played on astro-turf/fake grass
But I didn't get hit square in the jewels thankfull, hit my thigh on the right hand side, but it was as close enough to hitting to make me realise just how important cups really are,

Cricket my friend smashed it and i was slip.It went straight into my nuts.Thankfully it was a rubber ball.Hurt like **** but wasnt as bad as it being leather.Yea couldnt feel my left nut for 30 minutes and walked awkwardly for two days.

I have no idea what kind of protection chicks actually get when they play Goalkeeper. I've never met, nor seen a female 'keepers full kit. It could very well be different to a males in design.
