Drifting around internet space, I found this place.
I paused from my roam, hoping to have found a home.
It looks like fun, but I should not get overdone.
It seems like it is time, for me to end this rhyme
Hi!
I didn't mean for that rhyming to happen, but things happened and there was stuff and shenanigans. I'm mainly an rpg fan (well western; mainly Bioware and Bethedsa) and have sunk way too many hours into Kotor and Fallout 3. Oh and Pokemon, love some Red Version. A good Zelda game or two won't go astray either. Thought I'd add something about gaming so I don't seem like a nonsensical hysteric.

I really enjoyed Oblivion and Mass Effect 2, as well as the Pokemon games. More a fan of western RPGs than Japanese ones. Kingdom Hearts is also one of my favorites.

Nah, dude. Floatzel is the fastest pokemon out there.
Floatzel: fastest speed, 361
Arceus: fastest speed, 372
Floatzel, equiped with 'Swift swim', 722. swift swim has the ability to double the speed state.
So who do you think is faster?
Arceus = 372
or
Floatzel = 722
Floatzels are about twice as fast as an arceus

Lets see if I can work this multi quote thingy
Cool! I'm currently working my way through Morrowind and then Oblivion again in the lead up to Skyrim! Haven't played Mass Effect 2 due to a shortcoming in the funding department.
Woah, where did Arecus come in :p
Both Starmie and Floatzel have the same speed stat assuming beneficial natures, 252 Ev's and 31 IVs. However Starmie has a greater movepool which gives it the edge against Floatzel, Just looking over at Smogon, all their D/P Starmie sets have Thunderbolt as a staple, combined with relatively strong Sp. Atk gives it a large edge over Floatzel in a straight out battle. The only attack Floatzel can learn that Super Effects Starmie is Fury Cutter, but the low damage means Starmie can take it out easily.
Based on a quick calculation using Marriland's Calculator, a Speed Natured Starmie ev'd in Spd/Sp. Atk will have a max Sp.Atk of 299. Discounting any held item bonus (Life Orb/Choice Specs) or Stat modifiers (i.e Calm Mind), against a Floatzel who has been similarly stat'd for Speed and Attack (and as such would have a total Special Defense of 105 or so with no Ev's), a Thunderbolt would hit between 390 and 458 damage, which is over this Floatzel's max stats no Ev's HP of 280. Even at max hp of 374 it still goes down in one hit.
More importantly, Starmie has a jewel. That's really why it is the better water Pokemon.
