Sooo guys. I was playing around and junk. Working on Backgrounds and different blends. and trying to not go fully grayscale with a B/W render. and this is what i came up with. Is it any good?
That's the proper way to do the grayscale with it. I've actually fully colored an afro sam render before for a tag :3
I feel like he get's a little lost in the storm of your blending, bring out a little bit more of one of the sides on him. And use the wirefram, not hide it! Text would be great also, it is one of my faves from you though
I agree with Crai. The right side of Afro seems to be almost blended in too well. And then the cloud-things on the left side kind of... abruptly end, in my opinion. Towards the top, I mean. I think there should be more of the dark smoke shtuff.
But overall, I definitely like this one. For some reason, it just kinda... 'pops' to me. Stands out. Definitely one of my faves that you've done (though I've only seen the tags you've put up within the past few months).
He's not blended on the right side? Just a TAD by his armpit. Majority of the blending is on the left? :o But thanks guys! I spent a lot of time on this one. Maybe I'll make a Tutorial or something. Though I don't know if anyone around here would use it? Everyone on PR says my work is crap. So yeah. Haha
I don't mean that he himself is blended, but it seems like he's... too much a part of the effects. If that makes any sense. And when I say 'right,' I mean the right of the tag, not the focal's right. :p
You can make a tut for it if you want mang, just make sure it's refined and your teaching something :P Try to duplicate it first if you really want to make a tut. I usually tut live so I get the result as it's finished :/
-sigh- But that's so much work!! D: I'd prefer just going back through my old crap and posting something from there up. I haven't drawn something, in Photoshop at least, since last December!
I'm guessing he means like... writing the tut AS he's making something. Instead of making something, then going back and writing a tut from memory. But I might be wrong. That's just a guess. :p
But there's a difference between actually -drawing- something from scratch, and doing effects and filters around a focal or some abstract thing. I've done both - so I'm not saying that it's "easy" to make a tag like you've made. I doubt I could do much to match anything I've seen of yours or Crai's lately. It's just that drawing something takes quite a bit more time and effort.
Depends on the piece. I've spent days on a tag and days on a building design, but I've also done both in a matter of hours. I don't remember the last time I completed something like a tag or drawing in <. 2 hours
I almost always take multiple days on drawings. Usually a good few hours on tags. But I beat myself up over every little mistake, so I tend to go insanely slow with everything I do. Plus my laziness, procrastination, and lack of motivation all affect my mood on whether or not I want to draw something. :p
