Question: What is spam and where does that word come from?
Answer: It's "canned pork" and the name Spamming derives from the Monty Python Spam sketch about a diner which specializes in dishes made from SPAM brand processed meat, where at one point four Viking patrons in the diner began singing praises about SPAM which violently drowns out the normal dialogue in the sketch, hence SPAMming the dialogue.
There you have the aswer that nobody knew.
So if someone ever asks this again...you know the answer to that

Well, because of they repeated that song of SPAM over and over again, and it didn't make sence anymore in the movie, they started to use the sentence "SPAMming the dialogue" for something like that, so it's basicly the same as going off topic or repeating yourself over and over again on a forum (SPAMming the forum/topic dialogue), so that's how they started to use the word "SPAM"ming on the internet.

Yes you can, just press the word "spam" in Google images and you will see a lot of pictures of the canned food.

I always thought that SPAM, besides being a food, stood for 'Stupid Pointless Annoying Messages'.
