Is there any other way to get cooking and mechanical skills apart from going to the University? Everytime I go they only have logic and creativity classes.

well check the timetable in the university and it will tell you cooking is between 6am-9am so go there then okay
or
you can get 3 xizzles and buy earn a skill point
or
