I am! And I've started on my first ever guide - Nothing too fancy, but if anyone if playing the game I'd be interested to know what you think - especially the bad points, I know I've made some mistakes in there so far.

All of the post-release negativity kind of turned me off from it, but I may pick it up sometime in the future. Good luck with the guide.

Yeah, the launch fiasco put me off on buying it, and I'm not liking the always on DRM. I'd see that as a fun game to play on airplanes on such, on the laptop. But with the DRM that won't exactly work.

I think the server issues are mostly fixed now, as for playing on an airplane - how often do you fly! lol Smile

I think it is a fun game to play inbetween work or at home, where I always have an internet connection anyway.

DRM I think is there to prevent piracy imo.

Too often :p

The DRM is to prevent piracy but they could've done it without that...

DRM - doesn't stop piracy? (steelersrock) - I thought it would have been a great tool to do that, but I suppose if you can get a keygen it would circumvent the DRM? I dunno - I just read somewhere that games with DRM tended to outsell other games.

They need to do something to recoup the money spent on developing games. I hate the alsways connected thing - And I've personally lost access to numerious cities that would have been saved on my HD in a normal situation. But at least I can actually get on and play the game whever I want now.

Oh I'm sure DRM does help a bit, but let's be honest - if you really wanted to get a game for free, you would just, let's say, set sail and click a link. I suppose that's why companies have started with this always-on nonsense. I'm pretty sure I lost a few of my runs in Trials yesterday when my internet dropped. Damn Uplay. They'll never completely eradicate piracy, people are too smart for that. With all the Steam, Amazon, Origin, and GOG sales nowadays there's not even really a point in pirating when you can find almost any game for $10 or less eventually.

Was thinking of getting this, not made a decision as of yet. The idea of it is very appealing though!

I play Simcity 3000 and my current city is about 170,000 residents. Deluxe/4 is also fun but not the same as the previous version.

With this current version you can get 170k residents with maybe 6 or so hours gameplay, problem is the maps are really small so to get a decent amount of residents everything has to be high density - which I like anyway - I used to play the original and loved that version.

Just so you guys don't like the "always online" thing - there is a very simple way of playing it offline xD

It is literally removing two lines of code. That's it lol. And then you play offline if you want haha. Only issue is, people haven't figured out how to save everything in offline. But it'll be only a matter of time before someone figures that out.

Maybe if it was SimCity, as opposed to SimSuburb.
