Interesting news.

Another planet in our solar system, I wonder how long it will be before a planet is found that is inhabited by an intelligent species. As time goes on and technology advances this will become more of a possibility. No reason to believe we are the only planet out there that has life on it.

You know fine well if you dis someone small, someone bigger is going to come to squish you like a rather large planet.

Well theoretically there HAS to be life off of Earth. If there are trillions of planets, with trillions of chances to find a planet which could sustain life, theoretically life would've evolved on those planets.

There is no doubt life out there in the universe. But possible not life forms like you and I. Of all the billions of years our planet has been around, humans have only inhabited it for a minuscule proportion of time. So first of all we would need to a planet with the exact conditions to sustain life. Then find it in a time frame where species that could communicate are living.

Slim chance I think.

That is exciting news. Although still a lot to do to confirm its true. If it is then it could help a lot as there is still so much thats in not understood about the formation of the solar system.
There are theories that there was at least one other planet formed that was then ejected from the solar system. Maybe it didn't get completely ejected, just sent off in a very deep orbit.

Fermi's Paradox guys.

Fermi's paradox is valid. But what it really highlights is that it highly unlikely that one civilization will be able to detect another one, unless of course the civilizations last for many many thousands of years and actively search for the others for most of that time. We have only really been looking for 50 ish years. Got to keep up the search for the next thousand or so to start to make any assumptions.
