Leaks have now come about Pokemon Sword & Shield, and, as expected, it's another small generation. 6th Gen only has 82 New Pokes in all. 7th Gen had 88 when all was said and done. And now the 8th Gen, from all reports, will have 79 New Pokemon (not Including Galarian Forms, Gigantamax Forms, and Mythical / Post Game Legends).
Even though I'll still be getting Shield, I have a feeling it's going to be a bit of a let down. Barely any new Pokes. Basically the same storyline as Alola where the bad guys aren't really the bad guys. I really hope there is a saving grace still to come.

79 for a new game sounds alright to me. Naturally as time goes, it gets harder to create new Pokemon. If I still continued with Nintendo consoles/handheld I would consider getting it, since I enjoyed Uranium and Moon so much.
Just a wild idea. If the creators are short on ideas, why don't they introduce custom Pokemon for the 9th Gen. What I mean is, within the storyline a lab could be included, which allows you to create custom Pokemon. It may be a bit complicated, and there would have to be an in-game limit of how many you could create, but it would solve your 'not enough Pokemon' problem.

I would assume at least 10 million of the latest Pokemon series were sold. If the same thing happened for Gen 9, and Gen 9 included the ability to create up to 10 custom Pokemon, there would be, at a minimum, 100 million new Pokemon.
Is that enough? xD

Ehh, sales have been sort of dropping lately:
Pok�mon X & Y: 16.42 million
Pok�mon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire: 14.23 million
Pok�mon Sun & Moon: 16.17 million
Pok�mon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon: 8.57 million
Pok�mon Let's Go, Pikachu! & Let's Go, Eevee: 11.28 million
But I'm guessing Sword & Shield will probably have close to 15 million sales since it will be the first of a new Generation. If 4th Gen Remakes come, considering how popular they were, I bet they could reach close to 20 million.
