Tonight on RAW, for the first time ever, Edge will put his newly-won WWE Championship on the line in a TLC Match. His opponent will be 16-time World Champion Ric Flair. Is the Nature Boy primed for another reign on top? Or will the Rated R Superstar's experience in TLC Matches carry him over Flair? Watch RAW to find out.

The new World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle and Shawn Michaels have had some of the best matches in WWE history. They are considered two of the best all-around performers that the sports-entertainment industry has ever seen. They delivered an instant-classic at WrestleMania 21, and Angle walked away with the first victory in what would turn out to be an extended rivalry.

Their match at WrestleMania was an interpromotional one, but after Angle was drafted to RAW in the Draft Lottery, it was just a matter of time before they locked horns again. The rematch was at Vengeance, and while the match was another classic, the result was different as HBK picked up the big win.

Mr. McMahon then put a smile on every WWE fans? faces when he announced a third match between the two for the big WWE Homecoming last October. To make things even more interesting, though, he made the rubber match a 30-Minute WWE Iron Man Match. The two battled to the point of exhaustion for 30 minutes, and in the end, they both scored two falls apiece, and the match was ruled a draw.

After HBK and Angle had a falling out during a tag team match on RAW, Mr. McMahon thought it would be the perfect time for HBK vs. Angle IV. And who could argue? Don?t miss RAW tonight in what is sure to be another instant classic between these two amazing competitors.Also, John Cena will attempt to break out of the Master Lock. The Masterpiece had it locked on Cena at New Year's Revolution. However, Carlito hit Masters with a low blow and Cena escaped. Will Cena be able to break the hold?

And Kane, Chavo Guerrero and Shelton Benjamin all qualified for the Royal Rumble. It was also announced that Rob Van Dam would make his big return to the squared circle in the Royal Rumble Match. One of the most historic and chaotic weeks in WWE history culminated with RAW?s Kurt Angle winning the World Heavyweight Championship on SmackDown.

An emotional Batista began the night addressing an equally emotional crowd in Philadelphia. He handed the World Heavyweight Championship to General Manger Theodore Long and explained that he will be sidelined indefinitely because of a severe triceps injury suffered at the hands of Mark Henry. True to the way he reigned as world champion, Batista said he had to ?do the right thing? and relinquish the title since he?d be unable to defend it in the ring.

Many of the fans in attendance shouted out begging him to reconsider; some Batista supporters were openly weeping in the highly charged atmosphere. But attention quickly shifted to the night?s main event when Mr. Long announced that a new World Heavyweight Champion would be declared that night in a 20-man, over-the-top Battle Royal.

Participants ranged from the fleet Rey Mysterio to the massive Mark Henry to the powerhouse Lashley to the longest-reigning world champion in SmackDown history, JBL. Chris Benoit and Randy Orton were not eligible because they'd instead battle in the final match of the best-of-seven series for the United States Championship.

But with 19 of the 20 combatants in the ring, the Olympic gold medalist from RAW shocked everyone by emerging as the final Battle Royal entrant. Ultimately, the match came down to Angle and Henry as the final two Superstars. Despite absorbing an Angle Slam, Henry bounced back and twice crushed Kurt into the corner with an avalanche. Angle somehow responded with a German suplex to the gargantuan Henry. Angle later managed an innovative head scissors from a hurricanrana position ? twisting and leveraging Henry over the top rope. As Henry?s weight shifted, both men crashed toward the floor. ?The World?s Strongest Man? hit the floor first, while only one of Kurt?s feet ever touched the ground. As a result, the intense Kurt Angle was declared new World Heavyweight Champion, and he held the belt high for all to see. It was the first time in history that a Battle Royal had determined the World Heavyweight Championship.If that weren?t enough, a new United States Champion was also crowned in unprecedented fashion. Thanks to an illegal cheap shot, best-of-seven replacement Randy Orton defeated Chris Benoit in Match No. 7. In doing so, Booker T was credited with a 4-3 series victory and the United States Championship. It was the first-ever time that a substitute has won the United States Championship for someone else.

After the match, Orton reminded Booker T that he owes ?The Legend Killer? one. In addition, the legendary ?Rowdy One? hosted Piper?s Pit. JBL and Jillian crashed the show as guests. But when Piper had heard enough, he called out his originally planned visitor: The Boogeyman. A shaken JBL sacrificed Jillian and bailed from the ring. Then, The Boogeyman did the unthinkable: He ate the hideous growth off Jillian?s face.

Thirty men. Every man for himself. And an opportunity at the WWE or World Heavyweight Championship on the line. Put all of that together and you have yourself one of the most intense, unpredictable, exciting matches of the year. It?s the Royal Rumble, and it?s coming to you Sunday, Jan. 29.

Last year Batista and John Cena went into sudden death in the Royal Rumble with Batista ultimately winning and defeating Triple H at WrestleMania 21 for the World Heavyweight Championship. The year before that Chris Benoit finally won the big one and went on to WrestleMania XX and achieved his life-long dream of becoming World Champion. Will the Rumble prove to be the starting point for someone else?s march to the title at WrestleMania?

SmackDown?s Lashley has already said that he is on a mission to go to the Royal Rumble and make an impact. The soft-spoken, hard-hitting Lashley is undefeated and will surely be a force to be reckoned with.

On the RAW side, it was announced that Rob Van Dam would be making his big return to the squared circle at the Royal Rumble Match as well. Van Dam has been out since last Jan. 13 when he suffered a major knee injury. Will Van Dam be heeled enough to make a strong showing? The Big Red Monster Kane, Chavo Guerrero and Shelton Benjamin also all won Royal Rumble Qualifying Matches. Kane said that Snitsky was just his first victim. He said there will be 29 more victims and he will leave a path of destruction on his way to WrestleMania 22.Who else will join the fray at the Royal Rumble? Which Superstar will be heading to WrestleMania 22 to fight for the WWE or World Heavyweight Championship? Watch the Royal Rumble Sunday, Jan. 29 at 8/9 CT on pay-per-view to find out.

Batista & Rey Mysterio already had a lot on their plates as they had to face MNM in a rematch for the WWE Tag Team Championship, but The Animal also had to deal with some issues that go beyond the ring. Before the WWE Tag Team Championship Match, Melina came to the ring, accompanied by her lawyer, and held a press conference. She claimed that two weeks ago, prior to MNM?s title defense against Batista & Mysterio, Batista sexually harassed her. She accused the World Heavyweight Champion of being a sexual predator and using his power and influence as Champion to get whatever he wants. She claimed that he forced her to have sexual relations, and now she is suing him for sexual harassment ? and all of this came out prior to Batista?s WWE Tag Team Champioship defense.

But to his credit, when talking to Josh Mathews before his match, Batista seemed unphased by the accusations. His carefree attitude appeared to follow him inside the squared circle as well. Mysterio and Batista got off to a quick start utilizing their unique combination of speed and power to overwhelm MNM. But a miscue by Mysterio led to him injuring his right knee. Nitro and Mercury were like sharks smelling blood and pounced on Mysterio?s knee. They relentlessly attacked his injury to the point where Mysterio could hardly stand. But Mysterio refused to give up, and his quickness overcame the injury, allowing him to make the tag to Batista.

Batista started cleaning house and had Mercury up for the Batista Bomb. Nitro broke up the attempt, but Mysterio came back and took Nitro to the outside with a hurricanrana. Batista hoisted Mercury up for a powerslam, but Mercury?s legs took down the ref. With the referee down, it was revealed that Melina had a secret ally. The World?s Strongest Man, Mark Henry, made his WWE return, and he made it in a big way. With Batista?s back turned, Henry leveled the Animal with a thunderous clothesline. He then hoisted the World Heavyweight Champion over his head and brought him down with a monstrous powerslam ? the World?s Strongest Slam. The ref began to come to, unaware of what had transpired, and Batista was ripe for the pickings. The 1-2-3 was academic, and MNM became WWE Tag Team Champions for the third time in less than a year.

While new WWE Tag Team Champions were crowned, there was also a chance that a new United States Champion could be crowned as well. Booker T was ahead of Chris Benoit 3-1 in their Best of Seven Series. Booker T had taken an early 3-0 lead, but Benoit kept his hopes alive with a huge win at Armageddon. Booker T still had the huge advantage, but he suffered an injured groin at a live event Monday night in White Plains, NY. Due to doctor?s orders, Booker T was unable to compete. General Manager Theodore Long said that due to the circumstances, Booker T would have to forfeit the fifth match in the series. Booker T was irate at this decision, but so was Benoit. Benoit wanted to win the United States Championship, but he didn?t want to take the easy way out. They all agreed that Booker T could pick anyone on the roster to take his place in the match. If the replacement won, then Booker T would be the new Untied States Champion. If the replacement lost, then Benoit would be right back in the hunt, narrowing the gap to 3-2.

After dismissing Orlando Jordan?s request to be the replacement, Booker T found a dejected Randy Orton by himself in the locker room. Booker motivated Orton to prove to the world that despite losing to Undertaker in Hell in a Cell he?s still the Legend Killer. Orton took Booker T?s words to heart and was confident he could take down the Rabid Wolverine.Booker T and Sharmell joined Michael Cole and Tazz for commentary. After some back and forth action, Benoit was able to lock in the Crossface. Orton was able to get to the ropes and escaped to the outside for a breather. Benoit wouldn?t allow it, though, and soared through the air with a suicide plancha. Back inside, Benoit went for the rolling Germans, but Orton blocked it. Benoit came back with an ode to Eddie Guerrero and connected with the Three Amigos. He went up top, but Orton telegraphed the diving headbutt. Benoit recovered and went for the Sharpshooter, but Orton was able to roll through it. The Legend Killer went the RKO, but Benoit was able to reverse it into another Crossface. With Orton in trouble, Sharmell jumped into the ring and hit Benoit with one of Booker T?s crutches, causing a disqualification. Not realizing what she had done, Benoit was now one step closer to becoming United States Champion. Booker T still leads the series, though, 3-2. Benoit?s celebration was very short-lived, as Orton laid out the Rabid Wolverine with an RKO.

Earlier in the evening, JBL came to the ring and said that he no longer has matches ? he just sends messages. He said that he would send a message regardless of who the opponent was. Matt Hardy answered the challenge, hungry for revenge from Armageddon. Hardy was able to connect with a top rope leg drop, but had a twist of Fate blocked. JBL looked primed for a comeback but was distracted when The Boogeyman made a surprise appearance. JBL and Jillian cowered from the bizarre newcomer, as he chomped on a fresh batch of worms. The self-proclaimed Wrestling God and his image consultant retreated through the crowd, giving Matt Hardy a win via disqualification.

Lashley continued his path of destruction on SmackDown as well. Lashley squared off against Sylvan, and after an offensive flurry, Sylvan retreated in fear that he would be hit in his beautiful face again causing him to lose via countout.

Plus, Psicosis & Super Crazy of The Mexicools picked up huge win over The *****. SmackDown?s No. 1 announcer Funaki also interviewed Cruiserweight Champion Kid Kash. Kash said that he was the greatest Cruiserweight Champion of all time and left Funaki laying on the stage after the Dead Level.

Mr. McMan has new Vince's Devils. They are Torrie Willson, Candice Michelle and Victoria.

It looked like magic might happen for the 17th time ? that lightning might strike in Flair Country. A badly bloodied ?Nature Boy? stood perched on a ladder, reaching toward the WWE Championship and another historic career highlight. Ric Flair was about to become a 17-time world champion in his very first Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match (or any type of Ladder Match, for that matter).

But it was not to be.

Lita grabbed hold of Flair?s leg, then caused enough of a delay for Edge to shake off a frightening push off a ladder and through a table to the outside. As Flair tried again to reach new heights, Edge climbed the other side of the ladder. The two met 25 feet in the air, where one final punch KO?d Flair and sent him sailing to the mat far below. With that, Edge grabbed the WWE Championship and successfully retained for the first-ever time.

This match lived up to all we?ve come to expect from the initials T.L.C. Both men absorbed an unthinkable amount of punishment from chair shots to crushing ladder blows. In one heart-stopping moment, Edge hit a splash from the top of a 25-foot ladder, blasting Flair through a table on the outside. Flair?s daughter, who was watching from ringside, screamed upon impact then begged her father to show some signs of life.

Ric Flair would show the resiliency that made him a legendary world champion, leaving his blood all over tables and ringside debris and fighting his way back from the brink. Eventually, he tipped a ladder over with Edge perched atop it, sending Edge crashing through a table and into the concrete floor. That gave Flair the opening he needed to climb his way to glory, but Lita would put a stop to history in the making.In another huge RAW match, new World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle battled Shawn Michaels for an epic, fourth time. And to raise the stakes, Mr. McMahon put HBK?s job on the line in this non-title match. The series going in was tied at 1-1-1.

Ultimately, Shawn Michaels found himself desperately trapped in a grapevined ankle lock. The Olympic gold medalist was sure he had the match won. But inexplicably, Daivari entered the ring with a chair, looking for payback on Michaels. The distraction demanded the attention of the referee and forced Angle to break the hold and figure out what was happening. As Angle tried to pull the chair from Daivari, it accidentally was thrust by Daivari up into Angle?s throat, stunning him. ?The Showstopper? seized the moment and rolled up Angle for a sudden win. A furious Angle began to scream at Daivari, who responded with a slap to Kurt?s face. Angle couldn?t believe the gall of Daivari, then dumped him over the top rope with an Angle Slam.

Before the match, which actually began on WWE.com Unlimited, both world champions had words in the ring. Angle also explained the circumstances surrounding his participation in the SmackDown Battle Royal, saying his RAW contract expired on Jan. 1, and he saw a great opportunity to be champion and signed with SmackDown. His move proved to be a wise one.

John Cena took the Master Lock Challenge. Masters showed his power and strength and nearly caused Cena to pass out, but the former WWE Champion fought back. With Cena gaining momentum, Edge appeared and smashed Cena in the face with the WWE Championship belt, ending the challenge the hard way.

In addition, Triple H attacked Big Show during his match against Shelton Benjamin, handing Benjamin a count-out win.

Also, Mickie snapped on tag partner Ashley, costing her team their match against Victoria, Torrie & Candice, and Kane shut up Carlito by shoving an apple down his throat.

What will happen on SmackDown this week after last week?s historic events? On the last SmackDown, Kurt Angle shocked the world by entering ? and winning ? the Battle Royal to determine the new World Heavyweight Champion. In that Battle Royal, Mark Henry and Rey Mysterio were the last two men eliminated. This week, Henry and Mysterio will meet one on one to determine the No. 1 Contender to the World Heavyweight Championship. Who will step up to become the next challenger for Kurt Angle, and will he be watching?

Also last week, Randy Orton found a way to defeat Chris Benoit ? handing Booker T the United States Championship. Afterward, ?The Legend Killer? said that Booker owed him one. This week, Booker T will celebrate his "victory." Will Randy crash the celebration or try to cash in that favor on SmackDown?

In addition, fighting Finlay will debut, taking on Matt Hardy. After weeks of introductory videos, how will Finlay fare against the stiff competition on SmackDown?

Plus, JBL will meet the undefeated Lashley. Can the powerful newcomer keep his streak alive, or will the self-proclaimed "Wrestling God" be the one to end it?
