Australia(GGB) 3- 1 Japan (Aeshma)
Cahill 84' 89',,,,,Nakamura 24'
Aloisi 90'

Nakamura put the Japanese ahead after Aussi keeper schwarzer was impeded but the Egyption ref gave nothing and the ball made its way to the net.
The Japanese goalkeeper had to make the first saves as Mark Viduka the big middlesborough striker forced a fine double save.
Then Harry Kewell was denied by the bar and the Japanese were under threat.
Hiddink the Aussi captain subbed Cahill on, and what a fine sub that was as he scored to goals in the dieing minutes to put them level and then in front.
Aloisi then added to Cahills goals with another in injury time to deepen the Japanese wound.

USA 0-3 Czech Republic
.........Koller 5
. . . . . .Rosicky 36' 76'

Koller headed goal on 5 minutes was beautiful play down the right wing by Czech and the perfect cross bang straight on the head of the czech forward.
Rosicky then doubles the lead with a fabulous strike from 30 yards giving Keller no chance.
He then scored again to seal the win and make USA done and dusted.
Reyna hit the post with a stunning 1st half strike and was very unlucky with his effort.
There was 1 negative for the czechs, with Baros already unfit, their other striker Koller who scored, had a very painful looking injury to his thigh.

Next in the series Italy vs Ghana

On 09-Jun-2006 superblobby said:Germany 4 vs Costa Rica 2
Lahm 6'........Wanchope 12' 73'
Klose 17' 61'
Frings 87'

The match started to kick off the World cup 2006 in style with a 6 goal thriller. Both defences were poor and Germany were the team to capitalise.
The match kicked off and 6 minutes later Lahm opened the scoring with a dazzler from the edge of the box angling sweetly into the top right corner to put the tournaments hosts in front.
It didnt take long for the underdogs Costa Rica to equalise capitalising on slack defending sending Jens Lehman the wrong way after the nice through ball reached Paulo Wanchope.
5 minutes later the germans took the lead once again due to dreadful defending by Costa Rica and Klose had a tap in at the far post, he then added his second of the competition after his header was parried by the goalkeeper, and he was the first to react thumping it in the roof of the net.
Wanchope then gave Costa Rica hope in the 73rd minute, while Jens Lehmann the German Goalkeeper, reacted strangly when the ball passed him on the way to the net, this seemed to make German number 2 goaly Oliver Kahn smile as he looked for hope at regaining his number 1 spot in surely his last international competition.
As Costa Rica looked and searched for the unlikely equaliser Frings had other ideas, he walloped the ball from a good 35 40 yardsmaking the ball swerve visously away from the goaly into the corner of the goal.
Two contenders for goal of the competition already and only 1 game played.
Both defences were slack and if it was a better team than Costa Rica then in my opinion the german defence would have been slaughtered by 3 or 4 goals!
Wow, such a long report to be so poor in my eyes. First of all, Costa Rica did very well, all people from this country thought that the match would finish 4-0, some even thought that it would be 6-0, to the surprise of us all, Pablo Cesar Wanchope, scored 2 excelent goals, but it wasn't as much as the people here wanted. Germany, being such a great team, didn't have Michael Ballack, if he had played the match would have ended like 5-1 or 6-0 and all of my country would be in such a great depression. The goals from Germany were excelent, except for the 3rd goal, that didn't have to happen at all.

Well, to my sadness, I have to say that Costa Rica lost, but it was still a great match... Inspiring.

Annefranman52: I'm a girl!!!! And yes, my country didn't get much credit.
Superblobby: I'm a girl! They are good, but try to give both countries credit, because you never know who will appear to read this.

Hey now give CS some credit they managed to concede 3 goals!
England are now the luckiest country, you want to give a team credit its Trinidad and Tobago they played their hearts out vs Sweden and now England but england had that extra timy bit of quality to get 2 goals at the death. Also Sweden were lucky, however if England beat Sweden 2-0 and T&T can manage to beat para 2 0 T&T go through the more england score the less T&T have to score...
