Don't you get it if you donate enough to the temple of Avo? And I think oyu can buy it on the path to the arena but I am not sure.

You get the Paladin title for donating around 85,000 gold to the Temple of Avo, if you're good when you donate it.

That is stupid. Why would you donate that much? Is it at one time? That is alot of money.

No, it doesn't have to be at the same time.
And you can get it by donating 1 or 2 gold coins if you know what you're doing. So it's not that stupid.
If you have that much gold, just donate all of it, just make sure when you pres (A) to donate, that you rapidly press the (A) button until the donate screen comes back up again. You keep your money and the donation still counts. Sometimes you have to donate 1 gold coin afterwards to get the donation to activate.
You'll get youth first at around 48,000 to 54,000, then the Paladin title.

This is off topic, but you get the Sentinus Greatmace for donating around 300,000 if you're good. It does 255 damage and is augmented with silver and piercing.

Am ace with piercing? I don't get it. I go for the Assassin title in the beginning and then go for Avatar.

It's not worth all that gold just for a mace that isn't really that good and you could get a better weapon for cheaper.
