Well I only really know windows from home/work use, so I would say Windows... But then again, our servers that run SuperCheats and Video Gamer Network all run Linux... And the run for months at a time, 24 hours a day without the need for a reboot, and generally have no problems... So if you are talking about servers, I would go for Linux every time. If Linux was more easily accessible then I would probably say it was better for home use too.
I never owned a Linux, or never used one, but i hear allot of people saying great things about it. I own a Mac , but im new to it. i like it allot. it's great for graphics, but most programs are windows formatted.
I personally like windows better because it just....fels right. My brother just got a mac, and it is more high-tech, but it can't do what a normal windows can.
P.S>: Cyber_john3000...I can get rid of the white (render) around your charizard in your sig if you want me too.
Thing with Linux is that not many people know it or they think it's still complicated to work with...but the days of having to enter the commands are over, it's made so it's easy to work with.
Looks(Skin, design): Mac > Windows Windows > Mac though for easier use, I've only ever used my sister's mac a few times and it does my nut it sometimes on how you close and minimize programs and stuffs. I'm more used to Windows anyway. And Mac has it's own filetypes, so if you have printer problems, you can't transfer your work over to a Windows.

You can get it for free unlike Windows and all software is also free, you can download everything you can think about and it will have different programs that are just as good as any other, but free.
Like GIMP for example is from and originally made for Linux.
The installation disc you should be able to get in your local computer store or order via the net (the disc costs nothing and the software for it neither)
Also you can install them both on one PC, then you can choose what you will use at start-up.
Aeshma: I'm a little confused. do i have to buy anything to et linux programs on my mac? or do i have to first buy the disc, and then i can get the programs?
well with a mac you dont need to press a button to turn ot off, all you have to be doing is be working on something really important and *poof* it goes away.
just kidding, i saw that in a funny video once, and just thought id mention it.
