yea...I think i might have to start over
keep in mind i have no way to cheat
I didnt get the fishing rod in dewford, now the dude that takes you on the boat isn't at his house or in slateport...i have surf, but dont have a pokemon that can use it...i need the fishing rod to catch one dont I? well i cant get the fishing rod because i have no way over to dewford cuz that guy is gone...

go to mawville and go right. now go twords the two girls and keep going till you hit a thing of grass. then just keep walking around there entil you find a mairril. it can use surf.

You don't have to go to mauvile, you just have to go to Rte. 102 (where Ralts are) and catch a Lotad. It can learn Surf.

lotad and maril are the pokemon that can learn surf be4 dewford
