There's a certain skill game called Lighthouse at Major Magics, a pizza/arcade in Madison Heights, just north of Detroit. In there was various high level prizes, which was a CD player, some walkie talkies, a cell phonme (I won that too), and the GBA. It costs 50 cents to play, so I played it when I got there in early December (before I went to lasertag). It's a game where you have to get through the top level which said 'WIN'. On it there are wheels which show numbers from 1-4, plus and minus. You hit a plus, you go up in levels. You hit a minus, you go down in levels, as low as level 1. There are 5 levels before the 6th - the 'WIN' - level. I got to level 3 first, then level 5, and then I won. That day, I wanted something different, and I got the GBA. Inside it was a catrridge too, that being Fire Red.
I started messing around with it, not knowing anything about Pokemon that time. But then after a while, I got Charmander at high levels, and began to just play.
It's only been three months and I have got used to the Pokemon system ... well, at least Fire Red wise, that is.
