Reporting: Does it do anything?

We all know about that little "report abuse" button that hides in the corner of our screen. I'm sure you report people when the occassion fits, and most of you have been reported before (whether for just reasons or because someone didn't like you).

But do you think it does anything...

I got away with a lot for 2 years. I made 1 racial comment after some guy came on telling everyone how one race is the worst and they should all be killed. I replied, he reported and ran.
I got a 20 minute ban and 0.3 blackmarks.

That was a year ago. In the last month I had one guy typer Mother ****** around the censor. I reported him for offensive language. Talked to him a week later, nothing happend.

I had a friend over private chat told me he bought 5.6 mil for $18 from an online site. I reported him (Not real life friend or anyone on here). He is on everyday. I asked him yesterday if he had ever been banned "No".

I can't Woodcut anymore because there are autobots at EVERY YEW TREE in EVERY WORLD! 10 per section. Can't compete. I reported a group for a week. Nothing.

It pisses me off how people get away with anything. I know it's Free to Play and we don't deserve allthe good things, but how do they expect people to upgrade when all these see are horrible mean people and autobots.

It must do something because I've been permantley muted twice.

Cheating, was the racial dude saying Americans suck?

Some dude walked around saying horrible stuff about Americans and I reported him every time, he doesn't have one offense on his account.

He was saying things about caucasians. I don't want to go into details here. Talk on RScape.

I was there then.. Was it in non members?

unfortunately the report abuse doesn't always get it done, but they get so many that it sometimes can take a long time to get to the offense, as for the Buying cash, they use ur report, and their system in order to make a ban, same with autoers... but yes they do help out, maybe not alot but at least some... also bans don't happen everyday they want to give players a chance to learn from it

it is easy to type in censor.... so i dont think people can be reported for that, hmm the autobots... its all from companys making easy cash, so they probably have about 300+ more accounts getting willow getting up to 60wc right now and the online buying money thing, jagex said he was making an improvement into catching them...

oh and jagex closes worlds once in awhile to kick autoers out

and what libra said is true... they get thousands of reports a day, and they are not opened 24/7,

I don't see why don't they google for autobots and stuff. There are 1000's of websites about it. Just have them close down or something. It's very frustrating to not be able to wc in f2p.

you cannot just make another company close.... but what they did do is asked runescape fan sites to delete any banners thats got something to do with selling money and autoing sites, and i dont think alot of people just go onto google and download stuff

plus they are other companys its not like they are doing the stuff that is wrong the people using them are and alo t of the autoing sites are just macros for making spreadsheets and stuff modified to work on rs so you can't close down something that is being used for the wrong reason

The message I'm getting is that it's ok to run an autowebsite, but its not ok to use it...

actually if jagex went to court he might win, cause the rules clearly shows no microing etc. and the site encourages you to use it, and what do you mean for the wrong reason running? isnt closing it down because its ruining the fun of the game a good enough reason?, and if you smart enough you will know that its not only runescape that has autoing programs

Im starting to think it's allowed in f2p. They want players to join as members so they make money.

I sent them a complaint about it and was told "We can't answer this cuase blah...we try to answer all blah, members have more importance. Then there were 5 paragraphs why I should join members.

thats the myth we all know, but no one will ever know if its true

they said they banned 30k microers etc. and now you still see microers in every world... in f2p there is about 10-30 micros per world and if you times that but about 30-40 thats atleast 1k micros playing runescape everyday, if you think how it, how can you detect if their using programs?... its not that easy, now we all have firewalls etc.

I just get frustrated with it. I don't want to upgrade to members and it's impossible for me to wc as f2p. I went to 5 worlds today, looking for an empty crafting guild. Each had 1 level 3-12 with 76-92 mining.

well heres a tip for you, go into a world tats always full... the rocks get respawn quicker, but in members there is loads more spot to mine, so in a way jagex wants you to be a member

I have a desire to never be a member. I want to get 99 mining and smithing in f2p. I have no idea why though... I just do.
