Marinara Sauce
2 medium shallots, finely chopped*
1 clove of garlic**
1/2 plum tomato
1 tbsp of chopped poblano pepper***
7 baby carrots, finely chopped.
12 ounces of Barilla Marinara Sauce****
Sea Salt
Fresh Basil
Fresh Flat-Leaf Parsley
Dried Oregano
Dried/Fresh Thyme
Freshly Ground Black Pepper
1/4 cup butter (half of a stick)
Boil Pasta According to Box. Melt butter over high heat. Turn down to a Medium-High setting. Add Shallots, Carrots, Peppers, and Garlic. Wait about a minute, then turn down to a Medium-Low setting. Let Garlic and Shallots brown. Pour the Marinara in the pan, cover it, turn the heat off and wait until the pasta finishes cooking. Serve hot, over pasta. Add Herbs, if desired.
*- cross between onion and garlic, they can be found at most grocery stores, with the produce.
**-the smaller the clove, the better.
***- milder than a jalape�o, spicier than a bell pepper.
****- any kind will do.
