try upgrading your poison axe, and using that.
As for armour, your gonna need better armour than kut ku. Rathalos would be decent.

I get it alot when I destroy both wings, from one I get the Rathalos claw and from the other I get the webbing.
EDIT: also you get webbing most of the time from carving it.

get 15 armour points in poison so he cant posion you makes the fight alot easier.
Also when he is in an area with the grey rocks that explode stand so that one is between you and the basarios
he will charge into them and hurt him self
don't forget to mine in this quest as you get loads of good ore and coal for pokke points (i get about 1000 points each time)

First of all, welcome to Supercheats Tai-ebe. Please take a moment or two to read the forum rules.
Although bumping old threads isn't in the rules, it isn't generally permitted. Bumping an old thread means you post in it, when it hasn't been posted in for a month or more.
Because slyhunter07 posted this about three months ago, the chances are that he has already completed this quest by now. As I said, it is a general rule, so keep it in mind for the future. =]
