Particularly, is there any point in trying to make a habit out of Egg Lay and Egg Roll? The two moves don't ever seem to have any use, and I always seem to be using Egg Roll to run away.

I don't know about running away, but don't bother using egg roll to attack, it's too slow and predictable.

i dunno how it's done, but i know in like soem yoshi vids when they are on ledge the use the eggs alo..

Yeah, neutral B. It ignore shields, but has really bad range.

Learn to wave-dash with him, because his shielding is horend.. terrible.

Yoshi doesn' even have a triple jump which makes him suck more...

alot of the time he probally own't need a third jump..

yoshi's dodge is about average, i think....
umm, yoshi can be really fancy with the eggs and the edges...for those who don't know, if you throw an egg right above an edge, you can grab it....just watch fumi and be amazed...

It's horrid. Crouch cancel counters or wavedashes are much better.

I personally think Yoshi sucks because he can't jump otu of his shield. He can probably be a lot better then the way I play him (since I roll, try to repeatedly jump out of my shield, and i'm too lazy to DJC) but until then he sucks IMO >_> just because the logic is faulty doesn't mean it's false. *runs*

Hmm, I find wavedashing towards your opponent very effective with yoshi. Probably follow it up with a down tilt a and then a shffld fair. The f-tilt is a good follow up to dair.
I don't know about you guys, but I like Yoshi's roll much more than anyone else's. I think he/she's invulnerable like 99% of the time in that roll, so you can actually roll away from repetitive a's. Don't know about the stats for it though.
Oh yeah, one more thing. Always light shield with Yoshi... You'll see why. Excellent retreat; it'll probably confuse your opponent.
