All the Screen Recorders that I've used have lagged. I need on that doesn't lag because I want to record a video and burn it to a DVD for school.
Can someone find one that doesn't lag, and has a free trial/is free?

Although you'll probably kill me for this, but I think there are certain video editting software packages that allow you to remove the lag somehow. Like the re-synchronize it or something.

It's probably your computer's power.
I have Hypercam on a high spec computer, and it doesn't lag, but on a low spec computer (Like my dad's), it's awful.

It depends on your Graphics Card mainly. I have a good processor but I lag when I try to record, too. (My graphics card is awful). In Sony Vegas, however (A video editing software) you can speed up the clip by pressing Ctrl+ Dragging the mouse left. You'll see a major difference.
Sony Vegas is not free, but you can download a free trial for thirty days - should be enough for your project.

There are many kinds of this program on market. Personally, the one I used worked best. It can not only help you record anything displayed on computer screen with high quality and won't lag your computer, but also help save the recording to standard video format file after you finished recording.
I often use it to reocrd movie from screen and export to my digital device, so that I can enjoy the movie at will.
