how much do you have, and you should just fish and catch bugs, I got three arapaima's, a scorpion,two birdwing butterflies,a dorado,a arowana,and a hammerhead shark in one day, so put all that together that's a pretty good amount of money.

try catching bugs, fishing, and if you talk to your neighbors enough they will ask you to do errands. if you do enough errands you can raise the prize amount they give you. example: you start out with 500 bells as a reward, if you do so many errands, you can get over 700 bells!
