EA making the new "call of duty"

For those of you that don't know IW leaders West And Zampella were released by activision weeks before their big bones (huh what a coincidence) They were pretty much the founders of call of duty and the one's who put the team together to make cod4 and mw2. With their release they have now joined EA, and are suing activision for the rights to the name "modern warfare" If they win the law-suit then EA could make call of duty modern warfare games, and activision could make call of duty old war game's. Does anyone els find this as funny as I do?

Any how EA and the founders of cod are working on something big, can't wait to buy it. What are your thoughts on the subject?

Btw I thought about putting this in gaming news, but I think it fits better here.

Yeah, this seems like a good idea because if it does happen, I think the quality of the games will be much better, much like BFBC2 was after being made by EA and DICE.

Though, the two released by Activision stated they were going to be making their own new game separate from the CoD type game, or something like that.

The quality of the game might be better yes, due to the fact that EA is much less lazy then activision, however I'm honestly not a big bfbc2 guy, I'm a huge cod guy however cod is so buggy. So the quality might be better but I hope they stay true to the cod engine.

And yeah lets just face it, these two people are going up against the biggest organization in gaming, their not gonna win the law-suit. But it would be cool if they did.

It would yes but I do think they would stay with the overall CoD type game. EA is a prime company.

EA is only the publisher. They're not going to physically hinder/help development.

That being said, that doesn't mean dev teams from EA's side can't join forces with IW. It's all a matter of who gets put on their development team.

Actually, EA will decide what gets put on the market, therefore deciding what we end up playing.

EA only puts out quality, and I don't actually expect less from them in any upcoming projects.

They should leave cod as it id. leave on a high note.

I understand that, but the publisher still has a huge impact, big enough it could altar the game completely. Their starting from scratch again as well, they still need to find a team, this is a huge deal.

I prefer Activision to EA...

If this happens, Activision will only be left with Guitar Hero and WOW as they are the only games that make an impact to the market...

I hate activision with a passion, Their owner said that ripping people off is a good way to make money, no joke. They rape the crap out of game's and ruin them, that's what they will do with cod series. Sledgehammer is going to ruin the series, they just abuse games over and over again until the game is ruined.

Honestly, I hope something good comes out of this. Mw2 was great for awile, but now with all the noobish methods/glitches etc.. it just isnt fun.

The whole lawsuit thing has confirmed the production of MW3.

I agree, the game just gets tiring once you get up to 30k kills, however its still the best game out.

Yes, but that's not the next game in the series. And nor is it being published by EA.

Black Ops is being developed by Treyarch and Activision is still publishing it.

And if this is the first people have heard of it I'll be fricking amazed.

They recently announced that a total of 35 people have left IW, and 15 joined EA. Looks like the real IW works for EA now.

^ yup I've seen that as well.

Hopefully those that joined EA will make a good carry on for MW2 - but fix the hosting problems from MW2 lol.

i'll be severely disappointed if the people that joined EA don't continue on in some way making a game that runs off of the MW/MW2 type storylines/formats.
