There are 101 floors, the type, number and difficulty of the enemies increase as you progress near the end you have to fight the enemies on DMD difficulty.

i always thought the 2 blitz demon fight was simple, and the dark dante fight was decently difficult

Yeah, it did. You could go up by one floor, by 100 floors, or by one hundred floors. I went by 10s.

Either way it would take a while to do, they definately should have done that for DMC4.
