How does dowry work in Fable? Because I used to think it just went up the farther city you got married in, but i got married in oakvale and got 2000, then a couple minutes later I went to Hook Coast and got a dowry of 10 gold...
Can someone please tell me why?

I think that it is random actually. You get more the first time than the others (I think). Or maybe you get less if you have more than one wife.

The only one that I've ever seen it stay the same on was Lady Grey.

I've only gotten a big dowry from Lady Grey, and nobody else. (Shrug) I guess I'm just the unlucky one.

I don't even worry about dowry anymore. There are easier ways to make money. I never marry Lady Grey, I have her removed from office.

Along time ago when some one got married the woman had to give then all there money. And because Lady Gray has quite a bit of money u got all of it

i know....well its abit of a theory but....i think the programmers made it that it depends on who you marry such as...if you marry the basic housewife in oakvale...you will get awful dowry like 250 or...10 gold...but if you marry someone...lets say someone like a shopkeeper or his wife you should get more dowrysuch as 2000 gold...see a pattern?

That could be true, but no way to be completely sure. You could follow the shopkeepers to their house and marry there wives as a test.
