Well, I met Desch, and now I'm at the town with he Chocobo Forest next to it, but I can't figure out where to go! I've searched what seems like everywhere. Can somebody help?

You use the mini spell he gives you after you flee from the dragon
on all of your party then go to the villige of mini people(located in the south part of the forest)

With the info you've given i think you're at the village of anchients... From there you have to go to the Gulgan's Gulch, located west of Argas's Castle. follow the way given and godown the stairs. Talk to the Gulgan in the middle and he will give you the toad spell. Farther in the back there's a hidden passage leading to three chests... Exit the Cave and head out of the woods and head northeast to the Tower of Onin*(is it called tower of onin??)
