Can start playing

so, this is my help request.

yesterday, i got this game from a friend of mine.

after i installed it, tryed to play it, but no luck. after i run the game, the screen goes all black, and i can onlt hear some sounds, that doesn't last long.

i googled about this, and i got to some conclusions. there were some glitches on this...

i tried alot of patches, doing alot of things, but got no results....

can somebody help me plz??

also, my pc, is a laptop, hp 530, with windows vista home premium, service pack1.

the game wasn't original. the folder name where was the setup, was "final fantasy VII ultima's edition"

Probably a fake copy. Just get the real version of the game.

well, the thing is that my friend can play it. with the same setup as me.

he has no problems playing, and i, just can't play.. *.*

That's strange, but I don't know much about pirate video game copies as I never use them.

Getting an original would be better. You could probab;y find one cheap on eBay.

Its probably the patches. This game can be really tricky to put onto your PC> you have to be careful with patches you put on and if you put mods on that they dont conflict. The PC version of the game is really expensive to buy. If you have a PS2 Id suggest buying it for that. Or just playing it at your mates house.

Believe me it would be close to impossible to talk you through downloading this game successfully.

I would have also thought that windows vista would be too new for this game also. Not all old games can be played on newer windows.

well. my friend lives kinda far from me. also, i'm not very close friends with him to go to his house to play XD

also, don't have a ps2, and unfortunatelly, can't afford one :/
it just confuses me the fact that we both do the same thing and i just can't play, and he can...

guess i'll just have to forget the game --"

I read your Boss guide FAQ and i noticed that the 2 bosses that everyone wants to know how to beat ( Emerald and Ruby Weapons) had no strategy. Since i know a few I was wondering if you wanted help on filling in that section.

Same disc doesn't mean it works on everything. Your computers are probably different.

Its probably the poatches as said before, as I had some trouble when apply them. Try uninstalling it then reinstalling it and running it in an older Windows compatibility mode.

It's not that I don't know how to beat them, but I appreciate the offer anyway. It's just I totally forgot about the guide, for some reason. Thanks for reminding me.
