How Does????

The Assasins dagger work? i use it on Penelo, and sometimes she kills enemies in one hit (and i get a 9-Chain message) but how does it work, randomly? critical hp? critical hit?

I'm pretty sure it's just a random thing. I'm not entirely sure.

It is a random thing.

All weapons with effects are random (except elements).

Well I have never got a 9 chain attack only a 4 chain attack and I think it is differnt with different weapons like the bows will not have a chain attack...I think I haven't got one yet anyway and swords do have chain attacks

Chains have nothing to do with it.

Effects of a weapon (that are not elemental effects) happen by random chance. Chain attack (1 hit 2 hit 3 hit 4...) are also something that is entirely random.

Ya, all weapons with effects besides elemental weapons are entirely random when they happen, chain attacks are as well random but can happen more times with the right weapons like daggers and katanas will hit more chains and more times then any other weapons, and yes bows can to hit chain its just a pretty rare accurance but I have done it.
