Best FF game?

You guys are saying that people like X more because it was their first... but lots of people say VII is the best, that was probably their first too :P

I played IX before X, I liked X because it brought in new aspects.

1) You could mould your own character -> which magic, which techniques, whether they are quick, strong, etc.

2) It allowed you to play a summon, instead of just summoning them for one attack they were essentially a whole new character.

3) Switching characters in battle! Great stuff, meant you werent screwed straight away.

4) Those beautiful cutscenes (alright they werent new) they rocked still. And even the Aeon summons were made to look good.

VII wasn't my first, I just like the storyline and battle system etc. I like the Limit Breaks and what not.

I wasnt referring to you specifically, im saying that may be part of the reason lots of people feel its the best...

Yeah, but then again, it was just like one straight path, instead of a world map. Too linear for a FF game. And the story didnt impress me in the same way. Also the CTB system was inferior to the ATB system in my opinion. It felt like a downgrade. Sure the Aeons were awesome (except Bahamut looked nothing like the REAL Bahamut. What was the deal with THAT??), but it felt like they sucked all the life out of the series

What's CTB and ATB?

ATB (Active Time Battle) is the battle system used for FF IV - FF IX. ATB is the system when each character has a gauge, and when it fills up, they get to select their attack. Whereas CTB (Conditional Turn-Based Battle) went back to turn based, except the characters previous action, or status, would determine the order they attacked in.

I think the main reason i like FFX is like Swift has said you can mould your characters the way you want them, the sphere grid was an awesone addition.

Yeah me too but Repner prefers the ATB system i remember him saying int he FF Team forums.

Well that's his preference, I have mine.

Well some games tend to do that. But either way FFXII's battle system is the best. They just need some battle music instead of always keeping the map music.

Yeah that would be cool but hard to put in really since you are waliking in and out of battle every few seconds in some places

FF XII's battle system was alright, but it was too automatic

true it was very automatic but still a great idea, but still in a lot of fights i tend to give out a lot of my own commands anyway

I think FFVII is the best.

Very true resurection, but remember that they did that for KH and KH2.

Ah yes they did now you mention it, i have not played KH or KH2 for a while now i might go on them this weekend now you have remeinded me. I think jsut different music for the Boss Battles would Have been a nice addition and quite easy to implement.

I just didnt like in FFXII that when you ran away from battles the fiends still attack you and you have to run so far and by the time you have ran from those fiends there are more fiends in that area.

Hi guys long time no type. Ok, well heres my oppinons and my best reasons why:

FFX-It added Blitzball, and very many new kinds of mini-games the graphics were great, and the cut-scenes were awsome as well.

FFIX-The game overall was just good, the characters looks and style really got my attention.

FFVII-This game just brought a whole new aspect to the world FF when it first came out, and it really showed how the characters had their own personalitys.

FFXII-This game had great graphics as well, and brought the new fighting style with the espers(summons) and the hunts, but it did lack the fack of the romantic piece of the FF series.

FFX-2-This game had good graphics, and added all the extra missions which brough a new aspect to FF. Though this game wasn't as good as most people thought, overall it was pretty good if you took the time in playing it to its full potential, and maxing it all out. (not that i did :P)

PS:I have played more FF but, I only posted my top 5.
