If so, it will probably be mostly a filler game, showing you the events that take place durring "The Fall of Reach", "First Strike", and "Ghosts of Onxy"

Anywho, I still stand by that Halo: Combat Evolved had the best story line. Not the best gameplay, but the best story line.

i agree it is short but the other campagins were kind of short to ive beet all halos and were all very easy beet on heroic so it was hardly a challange but over all halo 3 was the shortest but best

Absolutley correct, and that's why there will be a Halo 4, plus they've set themselves up for it (with the Forward Unto Dawn rear section drifting toward the Black Planet in the Legendary Sequence).

Also, the new Halo games that have been anounced (halo chronicles) is supposed to be set in an entirely different part of the halo universe (unless your think of Halo Wars, which is set in the past (obviously)).

And to everyone who thinks that the planet seen in the legendary sequence is Onyx, may i remind you that everyone thought that the structure that makes the portal to the Ark was actually the Ark itself, which was obviously proved to be incorrect. So don't become too certain that the planet is actually Onyx.

And Halo 4 is highly unlikely to be a filler game. Any games that are based on the books would almost certainly have a different name. It wouldn't be Halo 4 as the main story progesses through time in these numbers (e.g. Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 4) and it being a filler would make this out of order (e.g. Halo CE, Halo 4, Halo 2, Halo 3). Otherwise, why wouldn't they call Halo Wars, Halo 4? (dispite the obvious fact that it is an RTS). Of course, it may not be called Halo 4 anyway...

well it probably is because onyx is completely made of sentinels (hence why it looks metalic) and is a shield world to save the forrunners from the halo rings

I agree,the Halo 3 campaign was ridiculously short,but awesome.

Are you sure u read my post properly? Everyone was certain that the portal was the Ark itself and your saying it PROBABLY is Onyx. Eh? Of course I currently believe it may be onyx but im just saying not to get your hopes up that it is.
