News just in.
If you unlock all the vidmaster achievments you will unlock Recon armor.
The final vidmaster achievements will come with Halo 3: Recon.

Sorry to burst your bubble but you need more than one more to get recon armor, as there are going to be more vidmaster acheivments with Halo 3: ODST (previsously called Halo 3: Recon, check http://www.bungie.net/News/Blog.aspx?mode=news#cid16289 if you havent yet.).

yeah well tecnically it's 7 more untill recon, coz you also get 1 acchievment worth 25G for each skull you find, get all 6 and then you get the final Vidmster and RECON multiplayer armour.
There arnt going to be any more vidmaster achievements, ODST will have it's own set of achievements similar to the vidmaster ones which will unlock the unrevielied supprise

... The skulls arnt Vidmaster achievements, only Brainpan which is the achievement for getting all the mythic skulls is a Vidmaster achievements for Halo 3.

All I know is to get the achievements necessary for the Recon Armor, you will have to buy the game and beat them, seeing they are exclusive to Halo 3: ODST.
