Just thought I'd warn you, if you have not heard there are people called 'host booters' and 'standbyers'. Now every since Title Update 2 (TU2) came out Bungie said that they are stopping and banning them, which is true but most of them still lurk. Basically it's Halo 3's version of Halo 2 modding, but worse.
They have different programs which I would rather not mention. When they are in your party one program gets your IP address, once they have your IP they enter it into a 'host booter'. Now what this does is if they get the 'host' in matchmaking they can flood (ping) that IP address with bots (packets). Some have servers full of thousands of bots while others have only ten, whatever host booter they use it varies of how many bots are needed to ping the IP. Now what the results can be are, believe it or not... 1. Being kicked out of the current game. 2. Internet shut down and must restart it. 3. Fry your router which I highly doubt is possible. Some may imitate it an attempt to act cool or scare you.
So now, to end this. I recommend you don't accept random friend requests or invites from people or this could happen to you, a caring, soft warning from your daily Halo Hub mod, Intoxication.
