Reach: The Real Debate

Alright so if this is not the place for the topic, hopefully someone can move it. But here is where I ultimately want to see if anyone got the game and if anyone thoroughly enjoyed it. I myself am about halfway through the entire game as far as campaign and played about 10-12 hours online so my thoughts may be biased or undeveloped. My thoughts thus far:

Campaign:
Solid as far as action and cinematic material
Easy to follow
Nothing extremely exciting

Multiplayer:
Weapons sound and look great
Booting is a lot more strict which can be good and bad
Easy to join up with people and see who's online
Voting can be good or bad as it can be changed at last minute
Swat is a lot harder now for single shot, but IMO it's better
Classes can be helpful, but are used extremely cheaply (namely, the Armour Lock, Hologram, and Sprint)
Maps are nothing really special
Assassination kills look nice but they take a bit too long to do
Firefight is a lot better and improved
Arena is a good way to show off your skill

Overall
Graphics don't look too improved
Music is great
The different editions are really awesome (I own the Limited Edition)

I think Reach is a good game. I don't believe it deserves Game of the Year or anything like that. Perhaps it will get better if the no-lifes move up towards the higher rank. What do you guys think about Reach? And don't mention CoD as it does not come into this conversation

Reach was a game I definitely think was worth the 65 bucks I paid.
I enjoyed everything about it. Storyline, new weapons, etc.
Though, you can still get the same BS from Halo 3 when it comes to matchmaking.

I mainly got the game for forge.
Everything about it is so much better in it than Halo 3.
No Collide
You can place objects in the air now without having to do the save thing.

Overall, it's a game most xbox gamers should buy.

I would have to agree with you on the multiplayer. The crap that you got in 3 you still get in Reach. So hopefully it'll help me out as far as remembering the crap that happened back in the old game

Reach was definately a great game altogether...epic story, great maps, new custom game modes...

Probably one of the best games I've ever played.

It was good, the only problem is in honesty the multiplayer. Allows a lot of really dirt cheap players to be even more cheap

Personally i like it. I wish they added something new into the multiplayer, but overall its a great game. I can't find my self to play it for more than an hour and i kind of like the fact that you can rank up playing any mode.

P.S. I agree with you on the cheap players being able to be cheaper than before. -__-

True, however another complaint of mine is Firefight. Too laggy to do most of the time. And yeah, the cheap players are ridiculous on Reach

you can argue that about any game, modernwarfare 2 for example.

the fact is you take the game too seriously, just have fun, if you are repeatably killed by a noob tactic do it yourself and prove that your better than the opposing play is.

My point about Reach, the reason I created this topic, was to ask others what they really thought about Reach. When it first came out, it was super hyped. But now that the noise has died down, I wanted to see what other people thought of it. Those are my opinions on what I liked and disliked, simple fact. I think it is a good game with some flaws

From all the hype it was a real disappointment.

There weren't that many changes to make a difference..

I discused this with my friends on LIVE, who have been Halo fans, forever. They said Reach is kinda bad, but just the transition is what makes it bad. All to fast, to soon.

I think that the prequals need to stop to much backtracking..

I could agree with that. Halo has gone as far as ending the war to all the way back to a prequel to the first Halo. Reminds me of Star Wars, starting at Episode 4.

Yeah definitely kinda pointless to end the war and then pick up where it starts. So dumb

The real annoying thing about it was the fact that in the "past" everyone has cooler weapons and tech..

Lulz, another problem. The past seemes to have alot more weapons that look smexy.

Just as a Reference, Star Trek did the same damn thing. Back in the mid 60's, the Origional Series came out, set in the 22nd century. In 2002 Star Trek Enterprise came out, and was set between 2151-2155. NX-01 is a sexy ship. :3

Star Wars is the same damn thing.

If they made Star Wars 4-6 today, it would look a whole lot different. Technology is amazing.

As far as reach goes, it's not really that far in the past. Sgt Johnson was on Reach and on, so it;s not like it's 1000+ years before Halo. Considering Reach is a different planet than Halo. So it's not hard to believe in the difference in weapons that Reach can have better technology and such than the rest of the series.
