Help with the black cat

I need some advice on how to get the black cat from Romana. I married Lumina and I was wondering if that had anything to do with me not getting it. I was also wondering how you can tell how someone is your friend. I am a little confused about it because I talk to Romana everyday and I still can't figure out if she is my friend or not.

They Say you can Get the cat in yr 3 Fall...And that Romana will go to your
house and give it....
You will know if they are your friends already if
they follow your character with a look....
try walking beside them at observe if they look at your character...
