Similarities etc...

Hey, I am definately going to buy this game, it looks cool. (It's just a matter of time, I don't know when I'll get it).

But I was just wondering if you guys could let me know about some stuff in the game. Like for example, what parts of predecessing games does it feature, what new things are there (and explanations of new things) etc... If you could tell me a few features of Carbon I would be thankful.

Okay, this may take a while to read, but this tells you some of the main fetures in Carbon:

Firstly, although there are cops, they don't play as bigger role as they did in Most Wanted.

Secondly, although I know you've completed MW, this game is a follow on to Most Wanted. Apparently one night in the new city called Palmont City your character fled for Rockport because the heat was getting too high. Now he's come back and things aren't what they used to be.

The third new thing in NFSC is Muscle cars. 1969-2006 is the year range, so there should be plenty of variety.

Some cars that are returning from Most Wanted:
Lambo Murcielago
Merc SLR McLaren
Porsche Carrera GT
Chevrolet Corvette Z06
Dodge Viper SRT-10
Mazda RX-8
Aston Martin DB9

The challenge series is making a return, and you can get some special spoilers and a couple of cars from this along with new vinyls and pearl window tint, etc.

AutoSculpt is freakin' awesome; you can sculpt wheels, fenders, roof scoops, spoilers and exhaust tips.

Yes, there is still the Skyline in the game. Oh, and you can unlock cool parts & uber cool cars like a firetruck, Civic Cruiser & Mostly, CROSS CORVETTE!

Another car returning is the BMW M3 GTR.

Doesn't your M3 get totalled at the start though?

Yes. You were coming to Palmont City in the Canyon when Cross found you and chased until you drove into a truck and totaled.

thats abit sad. that m3 is never used for more then 1 race a game, that i know of, once in most wanted(beginning) once in carbon (beginning). then you get it at the end when there is no new races.

There is crew members that you can add, 3 crew members max.
different starting car e.g. muscle or exotic or tuner.

Yes the Skyline is in Carbon, but it's been downgraded again from NFSU2 to fit in with its tuner category (less top speed but more handling).

Also, of course, you have a new enemy! He has a wickedly cool Audi/Lamborghini Le Mans Quattro (I say this because there is a debate about this in another thread, but anyway) and he is a pretty good driver.

I suggest when you get the game that you get the Collector's edition, this gives you extra cars (much like Most Wanted Black) in which some are pre-tuned, and some you can get in career. This includes a nice 1969 Dodge Charger R/T.

Also, it's a bit of a bugger that there are still no Ferraris in NFS since Hot Pursuit 2. I want Ferraris!

It's ok, I have read all the other threads, and it is an Audi, not a Lamborghini, he needs to get it right...

And yes, I was hoping for a ferrari.

Unfortunately, no Ferrari's, 4 Years of EA never add in.
But i remember someone told me there's a Ferrari add on in MW.

Yeah, but that's on PC. No Ferraris on PS2

There should be cheats to get cars... but that would probably ruin it.

Even though it is worth 1.2M it's worth having in the game.

Then again, even without upgrades you'd absolutely slaughter everyone on the racetrack. However it needs better handling, so it could work. The problem is, this is the last Need for Speed. That's all there is, there isn't any more...

Another thing not mentioned. the drifting has changed since the previous need for speed.
