So, some people think that Game Freak will introduce new types this generation, with the majority thinkin' it'll be a Light type.
If they do introduce a Light type then White's mascot will probably bear that type. Imo Light & Dark would be supereffective against each other. But, I don't really think they'll introduce any new types, the system works fine. Certain Normal types could be considered to represent a Light type. If they do introduce a Light type then they'll probably change a lot of Normal Pokemon to that type (such as Clefairy, etc.)
So, do you think that they'll introduce a Light type/any other new type?

If they bring in a light type they would have to change Espeon's type. Seems to me if they were going to make a new type they would of by now.

It's true. And the fact that they'd have to change more than a few Pokemon over to the Light type makes me wonder if it would cut off communication with Gen IV.

I would really dislike a light type because it will completely restart the metagame.

A light-type would be unnecessary, imo. What's its type's signature move gonna be, Light Saber? I think it's pointless and would really rather not see it.

If they added a light type, they would have to add dark, and then they would have to come up with new moves and effectiveness against other types. Seems like too much work, especially when they already have so many types and moves.
Maybe for Generation VI, when they've exhausted all the moves and pokemon they can make.

STOP calling it the light type. What is supposed to be? A pokemon who pokes at the foe? It doesn't make sense. Holy sounds MUCH better.

I don't honestly think they will due to what people said before of how it would be to much work and since they haven't made a new type since Gen II I highly doubt it's going to change know.

lol, I forgot there's a dark type. Sorry, I haven't been playing pokemon much lately, I'm a bit rusty. You would think they would've added a light type with dark.
@IA - I doubt they would call it holy. I don't know how they could come up with moves.

I really doubt that they would make a holy type. As cool as it would be to have any new types it really seems unlikely. I heard someone awhile back talking about how cool them making a virus type would be. I don't see how that would work though.

If you get attack by a Virus type, you have to use an anti-virus vaccine on your pokemon before three turns are up, or they'll turn into a zombie.

If I'm not mistaken theres a virus type digimon, so if they made that type for pokemon they would be copying digimon.

Making more Pok�mon with Multitype and adding plates that work like the Griseous Orb would add new types and keep communication with Gen IV stable.
